• Founded Rory MacDonald Law in 2000, became MacDonald Pilcher Partnership in 2006
• Previously a partner at Cairns Slane and Stewart Germann law firms
• Chair of Parnell Business Association (2009, 2010)
• Member of Franchise Association of New Zealand Inc (FANZ)
• Previous Honorary Solicitor to FANZ
• Has delivered a large number of seminars and articles on Franchising within New Zealand
• Has attended a number of franchising conferences as a delegate including Australia, Singapore and the USA

ASSOCIATE: Lizandra Bailey LLB/BA

• Admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1995
• Worked as in house counsel for a leading financial services company for a number of years before practising as a barrister and solicitor in private practice
• Has broad experience in commercial and corporate law with a special emphasis on providing advice for the owners of small to medium businesses
• Her speciality is franchising - providing advice for both franchisors and franchisees, drafting franchise agreements, and assisting clients in the purchase and sale of a franchise business (including negotiating and reviewing leases).  She currently acts for a number of well known franchisors and has provided advice to clients on a wide range of franchise systems
• She has also assisted clients with terms of trade, shareholders agreements, distribution agreements, licence agreements, registration of trademarks, sale and purchase of businesses and other commercial contracts
• She has provided clients with advice in respect of PPSR issues and leasing – negotiating and reviewing leases, drafting special terms and conditions
• Lizandra prides herself on providing her clients with practical advice which is tailored to meet their individual circumstances.

• Previously worked as a Technical Business Analyst in London and Auckland
• Designed a CRM system that won a UK Insurance Industry Award
